Cones are ceramic devices potters use to tell what temperature/heatwork their kiln has got to. They can only be used once, as they are ceramic material cones that bend when they reach a desired temperature/heatwork. They are usually placed into wee bits of clay to hold them upright for the firing, then logged and usually discarded. However - I hate waste so I make them into wee dinosaurs. This means I can use cones and they can have a life beyond the firing.
